Flight Navigation Log   Comprehensive flight navigation log (printable) for the quick and easy generation of computed flight plans. Initially the format can be somewhat daunting although, ultimately, well worth the effort. Input: Callibrated airspeed, flight level, temperature, direction and velocity of winds, true track, variation, deviation, leg distances, fuel consumption rate, beacon identifiers, destination runway nos. and field elevation. Output: Computes true airspeed, wind correction angle, true heading, magnetic heading, compass heading, magnetic track, distance remaining, ground speed, estimated time elapsed, fuel consumption, total distance, total time, total fuel consumption, beacon morse code identifiers, top of descent (distance and time) to circuit altitude and crosswinds on destination runways.    (No? Variable CAS Nav Log   Comprehensive flight navigation log (printable) for the quick and easy generation of computed flight plans. Differs from the first in that different callibrated airspeeds can be entered for each leg. Input: Callibrated airspeeds, flight level, temperature, direction and velocity of winds, true track, variation, deviation, leg distances, fuel consumption rate, beacon identifiers, destination runway nos. and field elevation. Java Calculators

Altitude / Flight Level   Performs altitude-flight level conversions. Input: Altitude / flight level and altimeter subscale (QNH). Output: Flight level / altitude.
Banked Stall   Calculates banked stall speed. Input: Straight-and-level stall speed and bank angle. Output: Banked stall speed.
Beacon Range   Calculates beacon range given a range of different scenarios i.e. suspected topographic obstructions, topographic obstructions absent, beacon on high lying ground, with or without refraction and using the usual formula.Input: Beacon elevation (a.m.s.l.), beacon height (a.g.l.), aircraft altitude and beacon distance to obstructing topography (depending on relevant scenario). Output: Beacon range in nautical miles and kilometres, relevance of topography.
Callibrated Air Speed (CAS)   Calculates callibrated air speed. Input: Altitude, altimeter subscale (qnh), temperature (OAT) and true air speed (TAS). Output: Callibrated air speed.
Convert Units   Performs conversions involving nautical miles, miles, yards, feet, inches, kilometres, metres, centimetres, milimetres, kilograms, pounds, litres, U.S. gallons, gallons, Celsius, Faranheit, Kelvin, kilowatts and horsepower. Input: Quantity, and unit to be converted to. Output: Quantity in new unit.
Crosswind   Calculates crosswind and headwind components on runway. Input: Wind direction, velocity and runway number. Output: Crosswind and headwind speeds.
Density Altitude   Calculates density altitude. Input: Altitude, altimeter subscale (QNH) and temperature. Output: Density altitude.
Equivalent Air Speed (EAS)   Calculates equivalent air speed. Input: Altitude, altimeter subscale (qnh), temperature (OAT) and true air speed (TAS). Output: Equivalent air speed.
Flat Plate Equivalent   Calculates an aircraft's aerodynamic, flat plate equivalent. Input: Power, airspeed and propeller efficiency. Output: Aerodynamic, flat plate equivalent.
Great Circle   Calculates way points and distance along a great circle. Input: Respective longitude and latitude of start and destination; number of way points. Output: Longitude and latitude of way points and distance along great circle.
Heading and Ground Speed   Calculates heading, groundspeed and duration due to winds aloft. Input: Direction and speed of wind, track, air speed, variation and distance. Output: True and magnetic headings, groundspeed and duration.
I.M.C. Wind Correction Angles   Calculates wind correction angles associated with magnetic track (for instrument holding patterns). Input: Wind direction, wind speed, variation, airspeed and preferred track increments. Output: Magnetic tracks, the associated wind correction angles and magnetic headings.
Load Sheet   Performs standard mass and balance calculation. Input: Mass and arm for aircraft, oil, crew, each row, baggage compartments, fuel and estimated fuel burn. Loaded Stall   Calculates loaded stall speed. Input: Unloaded stall speed and unloaded mass. Output: Loaded stall speed.
Mass and Balance   Performs standard load sheet calculation. Input: Mass and arm for aircraft, oil, crew, each row, baggage compartments, fuel and estimated fuel burn. Output: Mass, centre of gravity and moment for both take off and landing; individual moments for inputs.
Mass-Volume Conversion   Performs standard conversion of masses / volumes to volumes / masses for avgas', avtur and mineral oil. Input: Mass / volume of avgas, avtur or mineral oil Output: Volume / mass of relevant hydrocarbon.
Morse Code   Encodes and decodes morse. Input: Phrase to be encoded/decoded. Output: Decoded/encoded phrase.
N.A.C.A. Aerofoils   Generates N.A.C.A. 4-digit and 5-digit aerofoils. Input: N.A.C.A. specification, chord length. Output: Design and zero-lift angles of attack, design pitching moment coefficient (checked), aerofoil profile, camber profile, design lift coefficient, point of maximum camber, maximum thickness, matching point, k1.
Normal Approach   Calculates the wind correction angles for a normal approach (not further than 5nm). Input: Wind direction, wind speed, variation, airspeed and runway numbers. Output: Respective headings and durations for outbound and inbound legs.
Racecourse Hold (for Data)   Calculates the wind correction angles for a standard, 4 minute, racecourse hold involving two rate 1 turns. Input: Wind direction, wind speed, variation, airspeed and preferred track increments. Output: Respective headings and durations for outbound and inbound legs in order to follow a given track on the inbound leg.
Outside Air Temperature (OAT)   Calculates outside air temperature. Input: Altitude, altimeter subscale (qnh), indicated air temperature (IAT), either callibrated (CAS) or true air speed (TAS) and a recovery factor. Output: Outside air temperature.
Position Heavy Cargo   Calculates the optimal position for a heavy cargo. Input: The cargoless mass (for both take off and landing), the cargoless moment (for both take off and landing), the preferred centre of gravity, the cargo mass and its position constraints. Output: The optimal position for the cargo, the resulting mass (for both take off and landing), centre of gravity (for both take off and landing) and moment (for both take off and landing).
Procedure Trun Approach   Calculates the headings and their durations for a procedure trun approach. Input: Wind direction, wind speed, variation, airspeed and runway numbers. Output: Respective headings and durations for the initial outbound leg the 45o outbound leg and the inbound leg.
Propeller Tip Velocity   Calculates the tangential velocity and mach number at the propeller tip. Input: Propeller blade length, RPM and temperature. Output: Mach number at propeller tip and tangential velocity.
Propeller Thrust   Calculates propeller thrust. Input: True air speed (TAS), shaft HP and propeller efficiency. Output: Thrust.
Racecourse Hold   Calculates the wind correction angles for a standard, 4 minute, racecourse hold involving two rate 1 turns. Input: Wind direction, wind speed, variation, airspeed and runway numbers. Output: Respective headings and durations for outbound and inbound legs.
Top of Descent   Calculates top of descent. Input: Starting altitude,speed and rate of descent. Output: Distance and time from destination.
True Air Speed (TAS)   Calculates true air speed. Input: Altitude, altimeter subscale (qnh), temperature (OAT) and equivalent or callibrated air speed (IAS). Output: True air speed.
Turbine Thrust   Calculates thrust produced by turbojet or turbofan. Input: True air speed (TAS) and turbine power. Output: Thrust.
U.T.C.   Performs standard time zone conversion. Input: Time/U.T.C. and longitude. Output: U.T.C./time.

International   Looks up information on airfields everywhere. Input: Country and city, or identifier. Output: Identifier, latitude, longitude, elevation, variation, beacons, fuel availability and runway length.
Navaids   Looks up information pertaining to navaids. Input: Navaid name, identifier or frequency. Output: Identifier, location and operational and technical characteristics.
U.S.A.   Looks up information on U.S.A. airfields. Input: Country and city, or identifier. Output: Identifier, latitude, longitude, elevation, variation, beacons, fuel availability and runway length.
Specialised Search (U.S.A. only)   Looks up information on U.S.A. airfields fulfilling specified requirements. Input: City, or identifier, or latitude and longitude, proximity, airfield type, availability, fuel requirements, navaid requirements and minimum runway length and surface. Output: Location, airport operations and communications, navaids, airport services, runway information, operational statistics and fuel information.
Navaids (U.S.A. only)   Looks up information pertaining to U.S.A. navaids. Input: Navaid name, identifier or frequency. Output: Identifier, location and operational and technical characteristics.
